Pioneer locomotive No. 42 "Anglo-Saxon" was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1880 to conquer the steep grades and sharp curves of Colorado’s Denver & Rio Grande Railway. For decades, the highly successful 2-8-0 Consolidation Class was the "standard motive power" of the narrow gauge railroad. Sold to Otto Mear’s spectacular Silverton Railroad in 1887, No. 42 served faithfully for an additional twenty years before being retired around 1909.

This superbly detailed model is completely constructed with brass and stainless steel. Live Steam powers the eight drivers of these beautiful models. The models are completed with museum quality paint finish and lettering.
