Number
463 was one of the 15 class K-27 outside frame 2-8-2 locomotive
delivered to Denver & Rio Grande in 1903. Few years later, No. 463
(Engine No. 21788) was rebuilt with pistion valves located
outboard of the cylinders and with Walschaert valve gear from its original
Vauclain compounds. A favorite of rail-fans and historians, number #463
was restored and is currently operating at Chama, New Mexico.
This superbly detailed model is completely constructed with brass and
stainless steel. Live Steam powers the eight drivers
of this massive locomotive! The model is
completed with museum quality paint finish and lettering. |
